After that, she graduated from the School of Veterinary Medicine in 1981. She has been a veterinarian for almost 40 years but has been an animal lover her entire life. She also worked with marine mammals at Marineland and with exotic animals at the Sacramento Zoo.

She was the owner and main veterinarian at Parkview Pet Hospital, in Long Beach from 2009 to the end of 2020. In 2020, another veterinarian became the owner and sole vet of Parkview Pet Hospital.
